Waiting

Into each other’s arms
Like a familiar cup to hold
Warm and steeped
A memory just ahead.

Standing in repose
Gazing to the ‘morrow
From a long forgotten journey
At the edge of yesterday.

From the past
Will come the future
Waiting, all our questions
Impactience answered.

Silence, a reflection on the wind
Balanced in between
The infinite
And an ordinary life.

One of these days
‘Round wrapping arms
One will hold the others last breathe
Within that last moment.

The silence will speak aloud
With the answer we seek
Oh memory, I’ve been away
Far too long.
