No More Waiting

View from Zion National Park, Utah; after a long, hot climb.

Thoughts from the inside
Wondering what the outside is like
I can’t see where I am going
Because it’s like a cloud within the rain

Talk about it, see if it is true
But it’s you; I see in the fog
Stepping forward
Shrouded like this lost feeling

With no direction at hand
Being tired, at this point
Dead on the surface
But still alive underneath

Take a pause
There’s no cause, for alarm
As I dance from day to day
What makes me think about tomorrow?

Will it be different from today?
Are you there? Are you?
Watching over me
If you are, I cannot see the blindness

The darkness creeps in
Like cold raindrops drowning
My thoughts and logic
As closed images, tightly held

Let it go
Released as a leaf on the wind
To drift, flying somewhere
Outside of this color yellow

What am I waiting for?

I have asked these questions. And then I realize I am waiting for myself.

This poem is certainly reflective and contemplative. A lovely take on pensive.

This is dreamy Rob...:)

What are you waiting for? You are quite pensive here!

Of course, you're waiting for someone your heart is aching for!

Loved your poem Rob!

Though am on R & R for a couple of weeks, am trying to catch up with you guys!

You grabbed me with the photo of Zion National Park. That is such an amazing place to explore. Having moved to Michigan, I miss those western locales a lot.
I do enjoy the poem and the ways it explores sense of place through time. Thank you for sharing it.
