Grand Canyon, Arizona, USA.
3 miles & 3,000 feet down from the south canyon rim.
The experts came again today
It looks like another rainy, dreary day
Dripping through the closet cracks
And wicking within the watery tracks
The expert eyes that came upon us
With painful arms that wrapped around us
A surrounding gasp, and all agreeing
Love, locked on the razors edge
In the light of the moon’s sodden shadow
With starlight filling the nighttime sky
An aficionado of my feelings I became
Then something happened in that starry sky
A revelation in my mind’s own failing eye
Words flowed like silver on inkless remarks
An image, with lines in eloquence embarked
Hidden in the darkest of nights, two of a kind
How did we get here, within forgotten words?
I’m not sure, no longer thinking clearly
But what of the experts, what do they say?
Struggling through shadows partially held at bay
Alluding answers running, quickly hide
Where an opinion is mostly lost in stride
And through a side door, locked in step
Into a letter, written upon our hearts
Now not alone, weathering a wayward passage
The constellations in tow with the nighttime sky
I can’t help but thinking, as time goes by
Where are these experts now?
Tonight, our empty sky is filled again
With revolving stars, as sentiment explained
Riding on the tide of the morning’s rise
Falling in love again, as I look into your eyes

Yes, where are the experts to tell us about this wondrous creation of God known as the Grand Canyon...and where everyone who are mesmerized by its beauty untold do fall in love with?
T'was a lovely rendition of my prompt contribution Rob...thank you so much for sharing your equally engaging thoughts, felt like I am there also falling in love with the view of the Grand Canyon, and wishing that God will give me the gift of being a connoisseur to help unlock the mysteries of its existence!
P.S. The pics look awesome Rob. And I could appreciate it in a sense that I am beginning to love photography!
Ciao....:)
Hi Rob ~~ Those experts have figured it all out very nicely.
But with or without them, your poet has his mind on better things.
..
The poet at its best. I like it.
musty scent of love
experts @ figuring out the canyon? hmm..!
but ur in ur own world aren't u? the poetry flowed very well, even with them (or) without them too :D
good one LR..!
Ah, the natural world continues to confound the expert, but not the poet :-)
Beautiful.

Enjoyed reading this piece. As always, very interesting photos.
Time was rarely measured nicer.
Please have a good new week.

As always, these are lovely thoughts - in and out of the tactile world. Nice!!
Your poet's heart is at home where it is, regardless of the experts. They are at a remove from your speaker's experience. They are a pale imitation of life.
Hi Rob
Experts think with mind.. oh, we talk from our hearts.. where do we meet with experts in this expance.. and every possibility that they are reading you and chianging their minds.. well, a poet's heart well expressed.. loved your take on prompt, Rob..
So tenderly expressed. Such wonder can be known in the lover’s heart, such mystery imaged by the poet’s pen.
It is a pleasure to read it yet again!
half-way through
Love the lyricness of that piece! The imagery of your words and verses was beautiful and the end really moved me. Thank you!
