Endless Skies

Wales, United Kingdom

Endless skies
Separate the before
And the after
They make me believe
Our connection is so real
Even with an eon wedged between

I look to see a smile
To see a face
That reminds me of you
Reality captured in a photograph
The wide open spaces
Create this unsettled image

Your mind, and
My roaming thoughts, hesitate
Then intertwine, almost like memories.
They sail through the distance
As the endless sky unites us
Gliding together on the wind

Within the heartache of not knowing
The real you, lives in a dream
I see your face
Though know you not
And yet so well
Remembering that moment we met

A perfect day, wrapped in silky words
Crystalline images speaking
Volumes to my heart.
Blue skies, pallid clouds
Steeped in nostalgia
With shadows obscuring reality

And a chance that we might meet
In the endless skies ahead

your poem reminds me of something I read some days ago..."the blue zenith is the point in which romance and reality meet"

Wow Rob, this is so beautiful a poem...I can totally relate to it...:)

"mind and roaming thoughts intertwine; it pains me not to know you...:)"

"and a wish that someday we will meet"

Totally lovely and kinda romantic!

Have a great week ahead!

I read and reread this and feel taunted by the obscurity that marks this relationship. Oh, the work of the heart!

"Reality [lives] in a photograph,
The real you, lives in a dream."

Can't get much better than this, Rob!
..
I've been to Ireland, Scotland, Britain, Isle of Man, some several times, but never to Wales.

Aha, the heart so different from the mind. One loves the other hesitates. Beautiful words and images.

reading your words alone brought a sudden intake of breath... to know that one waits on the other side is everything touched inside onself only known by two....as if eternity never ends....
